The Neversleep Scrolls

The Neversleep Scrolls is potentially the first-of-its-kind creative collaboration with human-powered creativity and A.I. tools that could change how self-published authors can reach new audiences. The novel itself is written entirely by me and the theme music was also a commissioned work done by a talented Renaissance music performer, who goes by Rowan the Bard on YouTube. But I'm also using AI tools for narration (ElevenLabs) and illustration (Midjourney) to create the final result-- which I would argue is pretty impressive, but I'll let the audience decide.

The Neversleep Scrolls: Circle of the Mind Thief is launching today on YouTube, Spotify, and Apple Podcasts, with new chapter installments coming every Wednesday for the next 50 weeks.

For me, it's been fun to see how A.I. could supplement my creative process instead of replacing myself as the driving force. I think that anyone doing this kind of thing in the future will have to know and understand how to use these tools and where they may fit into an artist's work.

The Neversleep Scrolls: Circle of the Mind Thief is a Fantasy Noir novel set in the realm of Galhadria. A witty human detective seeks to unravel the mystery behind his friend's death in the city of Elves.

Synopsis:
“A human life doesn’t amount to much in the elven City of Arathes.” Fraenk Neversleep, Arch Preceptor of the Blackroot family, is drawn into a deadly game of murder and magic after an old friend is killed by an unstable elf from the powerful Fernbrook family. But a rash decision throws Fraenk into the middle of a dark conspiracy involving heists, monsters, and a trinket of unimaginable power. Fraenk will need all his skills as a detective and spymaster, plus help from an alluring and mysterious thief with motives of her own, to unravel a dangerous plot that threatens to tear the city apart.
